In 2019, Iain Ward, otherwise known as The King of Chemo, was diagnosed with Stage 3 brain cancer and given 5 years to live. He saw past his diagnosis and decided to dedicate all the time he had left to achieving something worthwhile. He started his journey to breaking the world record for the most money raised for charity by running a marathon. The Dublin-born, London-based athlete has completed numerous marathons while undergoing treatment. Through his innovative way of raising funds through social media, Ward demonstrates that those with medical conditions are not defined by their diagnosis.
